Mission Ministries

First Presbyterian’s Mission Team

Mission Team is a group of church staff and lay leadership who do mission work in some form through our church. The group meets monthly to communicate, plan, and organize. Members of the team include:

The main tasks and responsibilities of the Mission Team are to:
  • Establish a thoughtful mission vision and develop the ministry in accordance with that vision
  • Decide what mission projects to support and how to support it (fundraisers, designated funds, budget funds, requests to congregation for donations)
  • Elevate the church’s awareness of the biblical basis for missions, the need for community and world evangelism
  • Increase congregational participation in missions
  • Stimulate prayer for missionaries and world missions including correspondence with missionaries
  • Ensure that pastors, staff and church leaders are empowered to participate in mission projects
  • Develop policy and procedures related to missions

Mission opportunities are promoted through the church newsletter, Sunday bulletin, social media, minute for mission during worship service, the Heart of Missions and the Missions Kiosk in Westminster Hall. Each member is welcome to join a mission committee, volunteer, or experience the power of Christian service.  Below are the Mission Team members, and please feel free to talk with them about Missions at First Presbyterian.
