The January Heart of Missions includes:

• We are sad to say goodbye to Kristi Corbin who has served as Mission Coordinator these past four years. This is her last “Heart of Missions” publication.
• Canteen Run hosting a Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser on January 26 from 5-7 pm at Savoy United Methodist Church.

The December Heart of Missions includes:

• Angel Tree donations
• Special Advent and Christmas offerings
• ESL updates

The November Heart of Missions includes:

• Learn more about our ESL program.
• Winter shelters for men and women could use your help either by volunteering or with much needed supplies.
• empty tomb Christmas Giveaway December 7 and 8.
• Local children’s needs will once again be support by our Angel Tree beginning after Thanksgiving.

The October Heart of Missions includes:

• Big event — big success!
• World Mission sends money to hurricane relief;
• Raindrop update from 2016.

The September Heart of Missions includes:

• Hearts, Hand & Voices, September 16, with worship, food and working together on local mission needs;
• ESL volunteer tutors needed;
• Local mission announcements.

The August Heart of Missions includes:

• Shop this Sunday, August 12, at 1:30 pm at Salt & Light, 1819 South Philo Road, Urbana;
• Jesus is the Way Prison Ministry Banquet and fundraiser on August 24 from 6-8 pm.  Read more about the ministry and what it is doing in our community;
• SAFE House Benefit Concert Sunday, August 26, from 3-7 pm at Hessel Park.

The July Heart of Missions includes:

• Raindrop Project to benefit Healing Hands in the Congo (DR);
• CU at Home in final stages to move to TIMES Center.

The June Heart of Missions includes:

• All American Cookout this Sunday, June 10, at 5 pm.  Bring a salad or dessert to share.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and beverage provided.
• International Taste of First Pres Sunday, June 24, from 4-6 pm.  Bring a cultural or ancestral dish to share.
• Pastor Daniel Izquierdo will visit our congregation June 7-11 and will join us at the All American Cookout. 
• Rev. Dr. Ary Fernandez Alban will be our guest Sunday, June 24.

The May Heart of Missions includes:

• Sandy Carr honored by Austin’s Place;
• Pentecost Offering Sunday, May 20;
• Needs from local agencies.

The April Heart of Missions includes:

• Earth Care and Cuba Sunday April 22.
• Day trip to Kemmerer Village on May 2. RSVP by April 25.
